The page will not display properly.
Q:  My AOL will not display a web page or pages properly!

A:  If you are using AOL on a dial-up (connected via telephone) and using the AOL browser (this includes AOL for broadband also), follow the steps below:

1.  Stay connected, do not exit your AOL session (connection).

2.  Minimize your AOL browser (AOL for broadband users as well).

3.  Bring (click on) up your favorite browser (be it Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator or any other browser, not all browsers work with all web sites).

4.  Re-type the address/URL into the address text box (this goes for all browsers).

 

How to get http addresses to printout.
Q:  I like to printout site pages of interest, but the site doesn't always have the http (URL, address) printed on the page to follow.  How can I get the address on the site without going to the article/site again?

A:  This is a two part answer, depending on which operating system that is being used.

Windows 98:
1.    Click on "File".

2.    Click on "Print".

3.    In the lower right hand corner (Above the "Ok" button) is a check box.

4.  "Print table of links", click on the check box to put a check in there.

5.    Click on the "Ok" button to get the printout, at the bottom of the printout should be a table the http addresses.  

Windows XP:
1.    Click on "File".

2.    Click on "Print".

3.    Click on "Options".

5.    Check the "Check Box" for "Print table of links".

6.    Click the "Ok" button.

 

Outlook Socket Error Problem
Q:  I am using Outlook Express and I get an no sockets error, what do I have to do to correct the problem?

A:  Well this can be answered for Windows 98 for sure.  This is for Windows 98 CD's only.
1.  Get out your Windows CD

2.  Allow Windows CD to autorun, that is show the "Windows 98 CD-ROM.

3.  There will be three choices to chose from
"Interactive CD Sampler"
"Cool Video Clips"
"Add/Remove Software"
Chose "Add/Remove Software".

4.  In there will be found three "tabs" marked as follows:
"Install/Uninstall"
"Windows Setup"
"Startup Disk"
Click on "Windows Setup".

5.  In that panel uncheck all check boxes, except "Communications"(make sure "Communications is highlighted)

6.  Click on "Details".

7.   Now uncheck all check boxes except the following check boxes:
"Dial-Up"
"Dial-Up Networking"
"Dial-Up Server"
"Phone Dialer"
Make sure that the above boxes have checks in them.

8.  Click "Ok", Click on "Ok".

9.  When it asked for a response, to restart, click the "Yes" button.
